Teachers

I'm the lady behind this Wild community + more or less the one that keeps the wheels on the bus while all these wonderful humans make it go round. They're the ones who's hearts ripple out my visions for creating yoga and a community for everyBody

I'd love for you to get to know our incredible team of teachers through my eyes and why I feel like each of them plays a vital role in what makes Yoga in the Wild extra special.

Heather has been with us since the begining. She was there as I taught some of the first outdoor classes to my close friends as I found my voice as a teacher.  She dove in head first with me as my vision for an outdoor Yoga Studio began to take shape.

Heather has been teaching Sunday Soul, nearly every week for the past 5 years.  She is a pillar to the vision of this  community that has sparked 100s if not 1000s of students to grow in their practice.

Fun Fact: Heather and I met as neighbors and she's the one that shared with me the training that I did my first yoga certification in... which essentially gave me the inspiration to play yoga outdoors.

We will be offering an in-depth glimpse of her shortly via our BTS features with our teachers on our Blog.

I met Melissa nearly 5 years ago when she attended her first VPUY class.  Back in the day when our Winter Home looked like a former restaurant location, that Ventura Harbor so kindly loaned out to us affordably for our evening classes.

Melissa quickly dove into our Community.  You can even find some of her old Blog posts that she contributed to our page.  She has a knack for knowing a lot about a lot of things, but I find her knowledge on Hollistic living most fantastic. We spent 10 days in Japan together recently and I witness her devour book after book and suddenly I understood her source of knowledge from an incredible new level.

She joined the teacher training that we hosted in 2017 and has been teaching with us ever since.

Michelle is a DYNAMO, with energy for days.  You can't

help but to feel electrified when you're with here.

I first met her at our Sunday Soul classes as a student a few

years back. As she jumped into her teacher training she

made it very clear to us that her dream would be to teach

Sunday Soul someday.  It had affected her life and she

wanted to ripple that sensation out to others.

Michelle has been a regular sub for our Sunday Soul class and officially joined the Pop Up team in 2018.

She inspired our 'Mack Pack' fanny packs we released this year, because she taught us the key to her energy is to always have snacks on hand... I like snacks and I like her style, so we created a product to honor her spirit.

My first memories of Lauren comes to mind as a colorful gal that frequented my Friday morning practices.  I say colorful because her hair has been every color under the sun and it used to light me up to see how she'd transform herself each week.  It's when she joined me on my first Channel Islands Yoga retreat that I got to see firsthand just how special she was as a human.

We've bonded over our infatuation  of Nature and everything we find out there.

Lauren joined our team in 2019 after completing her 200 hour training.  In one short year I got to witness the evolution of an incredible human as she stepped into and thrived in this new role.

Emily joined our yoga community as a new student to

yoga.  She dove in head first and it's been an honor to

witness her evolution over the years.

She has reminded me time and again the importance of this community remaining accessible for all.  Life can change quickly and it's important to still have access to the pieces that ground you.

As Emily's life has shifted its focused, its been amazing to watch her thrive.  She officially graduated her 200 hours in the Fall of 2019, but we saw something in her before that and created a space for her to sub with us to continue to SPARK that fire she has within her.

She officially has taken on a full time class with us this year and we cannot wait for you to get to see everything we see in her.

Chelsea joined our family in the Spring 2019 season.  When she came in to audition for us, I just recall thinking that she was going to be an important part of this community.

Having hosted her own outdoor yoga classes prior to joining us, she was a natural at the Wildness of our classes.  She has this ability to embrace any and all of life's wobbles and adapt accordingly, with grace and a sense of humor.

Chelsea had some wonderful visions that quickly funneled over to our Venture Well brand, where she supports our bigger picture of bringing even more depth of this practice to each of you.

She's contagious in the best way possible and has created an incredible following for her Friday morning class each week in her first year teaching for us.

Paisley O'Shea... I knew when I first heard her name that she would light the room up with a smile. The Irish  in me loves the happy go lucky Irish in her.  She wasn't able to make our 2019 auditions because she was on an adventure inBali.  I hired her without every having had a chance to see her teach, because she came so highly recommend from others in the community.

Paisley joined our family as a sub in the 2019 Spring season.  She took off to New Zealand at the end of the year for a Wild adventure and has been adding wisdom to her teaching belt with some enriching trainings.  When she's released from quarantine on the other side of the world, we can't wait for you to get to know her at her new weekly offering.

Laura joined our team as we were opening up our indoor

Home in Downtown Ventura in the Fall of 2016. I'll

never forget the first time I met her.  She came in to

audition for us, and I had accdiently smoked us out of the

space with Palo Santo.  Laura was a champ and breathed

through the situation and wowed us with all she had to

offer.

Laura's background is in Physical Therapy combined with her endless motivation  for self study, adds an incredible edge to her teaching. I've never left her class, without feeling like I'd learned something extraordinary about our body, mind or spirit.  Her passions and expertise blend together in this incredible dance as she teaches.

Laura will be teaching some brand new workshops in this upcoming season.  Stay tuned to learn more about here on her feature on our blog

I met Lauren at the beginning of 2020. We both felt when we met, that we were supposed to know each other and grow in this life's work together.

Her passions mirror mine, supporting individuals to shift through the power of yoga, specifically when it comes to healing traumas.  She continues to deepen her knowledge of yoga both on and off the mat with an on going study that she weaves into her teaching.

She is the Yin to Cam (below) Yang and together they make a dynamic duo. These two will be offering a special blended class in this upcoming seasons, filling the much requested Saturday morning class slot once again.

I can't wait for you to meet Lauren and all that her light has to shine forth.

In the meantime get to know the depths of her and her offerings as we feature her on our blog.

I met Cam earlier in 2020 as he DJ for a live yoga class.  YES! my mind screamed. I've been searching for someone with a passion for yoga that knows how to create a high vibration that only music can evoke.  Cam and I have been dreaming and scheming about some fun projects for you all once we can gather again.

His dynamic strong classes blend seamlessly with his Wife, Lauren's (above) gentle classes. These two have something special in store for you on Saturday mornings when we return to the Wild.

Maxwell was one of my first yoga teachers when I moved to Ventura.  He made an incredible impression on my limited knowledge of yoga at the time.  I'll never forgot the first time he taught my class "breath of fire" It expanded my understanding of what this practice was capable of.  He brings a wealth of wisdom to his practice and to our team.

Maxwell has a reputation around town as TEACHER: VUSD, Surf Instructor for Ventura Makos, and now with VPUY teaching on his turf of choice; sand. Get to know Maxwell in depth via his blog feature.
